I'm feeling rested after a long weekend in Vermont. Ricky and I went away for three days to beautiful, relaxing, invigorating Burlington, VT. I'll be posting updates and photos from our trip. Probably right after this.
Day 27: A song that you wish you could play
This is in line with the previous post, about me being able to play Fur Elise. I always wanted to be able to play a Joplin rag. Everyone learns The Entertainer, but my true dream is Maple Leaf Rag. This may be why it was the opening song when I directed The Wedding on the Eiffel Tower.
Side note, I love this version of it on Youtube. Find old timey Joplin clips, they're pretty great and have a warmth to them that lends itself nicely to rag.
